Nigeria Partnership for Education Project (NIPEP) partnered with the World Bank to improve access and quality of early childhood education (ECE) in 5 states located in North-West Nigeria, specifically Katsina, Kano, Sokoto, Jigawa and Kaduna. The components of the survey implemented were: (a) GPS mapping of 1,082 existing Islamiyya and Tsangayya schools in the Kumbotso and Fagge Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Kano State; (b) administration of the ‘systems approach for better education results- engaging the private sector (SABER-EPS)’ provider survey to 190 randomly selected schools captured from the GPS mapping; and (c) administration of the ‘measuring early learning and quality outcomes (MELQO)’ tool to 80 randomly selected subset of the schools sampled for the SABER-EPS provider survey.
